New Music Theatre work 'Sangsara' to be premiered May 2007

ensemblebash will premiere Roberto Filoseta's Sangsara on May 26 as part of the University of Hertordshire's MayFest.  Sangsara is a new music-theatre work contemplating the predicament of the individual caught in the endless cycle of birth, death, and rebirth.  Karma, the inexorable law of cause and effects of which we are simultaneously masters and subjects, is here construed as the product of the tension and interplay between Kama (love, desire, passions) and Dharma (morals, ethics, laws, taboos).  Drawing from the rich symbolism of the Bardo Thödol (Tibetan Book of the Dead), Tantric texts, and other sources from ancient Eastern sacred literature, Sangsara combines a wealth of percussion instruments, live electronics and improvisation.


Grammy nomination for Orchestralli

Stewart Copeland's 'Birds of Prey' from the Cd/Dvd Orchestralli, has been nominated for a Grammy.  Featuring ensemblebash, Robert Ziegler (conductor) and Orchestra Ueca alongside the legendary Police drummer, Orchestralli is an essential collection of Stewart's music for TV and film.
